Welcome to your library service!

Membership of Brighton & Hove libraries is free and open to all. There are 16 libraries in Brighton & Hove, including a mobile library and an equal access centre.

Library information in other languages

You will need a Library card if you wish to borrow materials from our branches or use the full features of the online services available on this website. To get a library card you will need to join at one of our libraries.

You can join at any one of our libraries by bringing proof of your address and signature. Please bring with you

  • one form of current identification showing your address, such as a driving licence, bank statement, utility bill or franked envelope
  • one form of current identification clearly showing your signature, such as a bank card, credit card or passport

If you are under 16 you will need a parent or guardian's signature, and proof of their address.
